In order to contribute to limiting the problem of black credit loans, to promptly meet the capital needs of Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone workers and low-income laborers in District 7, CEP – Branch District 8 officially opened the operation of the Transaction office at District 7 Labor Confederation. Following Tan Thuan EPZ transaction office under Nha Be branch, the District 8 branch is the second branch pioneering in the innovation of regulation. The process and method of serving workers and city workers, as a premise for CEP to move forward to replicate the model of transaction offices serving poor workers in the city in the near future.
The transaction office of District 7 was established as a result of the close coordination between CEP Microfinance Institution and the Party Committee, Trade Unions at all levels of the District 7 Labor Confederation, joining hands with the City Trade Union implementing care programs for production workers working in industrial zones and grassroots trade unions in District 7 in particular, while continuing to actively participate in the sustainable poverty reduction program of Ho Chi Minh City in general.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ngo Ngoc Tan the Director of CEP District 8 Branch said that the goal is that by the end of 2025, the District 7 transaction office will have served more than 4,000 workers and working people, the total number of customers supported by CEP in District 7 increased to over 7,000 people with a total loan balance of over VND 140 billion. Also at the ceremony, CEP signed agreements with 4 representatives of trade unions in the region and granted loans to 13 customers with a total amount of 305 million dongs.
